After more than 15 years of living under a deportation order, our client finally won asylum and the chance to live in peace with his family in the United States.

Challenge
In 2009, our client was ordered deported. Returning home would have exposed him to severe risks because of his background and beliefs. For nearly a decade, he lived in limbo, unable to find protection.
Our Strategy
In 2018, Ballout Law filed a motion to reopen his case based on changed country conditions. We showed that the situation had grown even more dangerous and that he would be at serious risk if forced to return. Once the case was reopened, we filed a new asylum application supported by reports, expert evidence, and testimony documenting his fear of persecution.
Result
In 2025, the Immigration Judge granted asylum. After more than 15 years of uncertainty, our client is now a lawful asylee, living safely in the U.S. with his family.
Takeaway
Even after many years under a deportation order, relief is possible. Changed conditions, strong evidence, and determined legal advocacy can create a second chance — and a new life in the United States.
